BUILDING NEW PLAYGROUND After raising money for several years, the time for the vision of new playground to become a reality arrived. It was up to the community to construct the new playground in 5 days. It was an amazing experience as people from all walks of live, from all skill levels, and from all ages came together. We are proud of the students and faculty who helped with this project. Students worked long hours in some very unruly weather at times. The administration not only supported allowing teachers and students to volunteer, but the administration was present also. These are some of the pictures of the students and faculty who participated. It is by no means all who were there. To see more pictures, please check out the school's website. We look forward to seeing the new playground finished.

BUILDING NEW PLAYGROUND I am proud of these students!  They worked so hard, despite the rain and the cold.  I was in a group with Anna,  Sammy, Annabelle, & Isabella and they each took their job seriously and worked for hours.  They really stepped up and used tools that were new to them.  I worked in the tent, but I saw several other students out in the rain working and moving materials even though they were drenched.  I know they will always remember this project, especially when they look at the park and know they helped to create it.  I am glad I volunteered even though my body was tired, and I am grateful for the experience.  One of the volunteers asked what group we were with, and she could not believe that the Coalgate High School students still volunteered with the weather conditions.  She was pleasantly surprised and asked to get a group picture.  I liked using a drill for the first time, and I think I can see why men love tools.  Christina Rivas
