SHAKESPEARE!!
Coalgate 7-12 students had the pleasure of watching a live performance by the Oklahoma Shakespeare Theater Co. as they performed a light-hearted version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A grant from The Carolyn Watson Rural Foundation allowed them to visit schools in our area free of charge to the districts. Their goal was to make Shakespeare less intimidating in the classroom. It was a huge success and the students and staff loved it!
AFTER SCHOOL NOTIFICATION
There will be no after school on Tuesday, Nov. 7, due to the Fall Festival at Emerson Elementary.
Wendy Hightower, Pre-Employment Transition Services Specialist, recently hosted a career fair for local schools and Kiamichi Tech students. Students explored career opportunities, resources, and educational options from over twenty local businesses and organizations.
Christina Rivas and students from Coalgate High School participated.
YOUTH ACTION HEALTH LEADERSHIP TEAM
Deiondra Howard and Breckenridge Hunt of Coalgate High School are two the 40 students chosen for the Youth Action Health Leadership Team. Deiondra Howard was 1 of 150 students who were selected to attend the NCEPP Youth Leadership summit 2023 in San Francisco, CA. She was chosen out of over 500,000 students who applied from all over the nation.

UNDEFEATED!!
With a 230-130 win over Rock Creek, the Coalgate Academic Team finishes their regular season undefeated. The team will play in the Blue River Conference on November 4 and in the Regional Tournament on November 11.

COALGATE WILDCAT MARCHING BAND
The Pride of Coalgate Wildcat Marching Band participated in the OSSAA Regional Marching Band Contest today and received an Excellent rating for their performance! Mr. Howell said, " I am extremely proud of them and all the hard work that they have put in this season!" Thank you to Coach Cater, coaches, and the Coalgate football team for coming and supporting us today! It truly meant a lot to have them there with us!

ES BASKETBALL UPDATE
The elementary games scheduled for Wednesday are HERE and not away. The games will begin at 10:00 in the New Gym.

Coalgate fans will enter and exit the stadium through the large blue gate at the south end of the stadium. Unfortunately, we do not have a parking lot for fans so parking is along the streets near the stadium. If they park in the boomerang parking lot there is a good chance they will be towed.( I apologize for that)

FALL BREAK
Fall break begins Thursday, October 19th and goes through Monday, the 23rd. For Emerson Elementary there will be no after school on Wednesday, October 18th.
