About Cindy Mead

Welcome to Coalgate

The School of Opportunity

It has been awhile since I updated my information, so I decided I needed to get busy.

I am thankful and blessed to be a part of the Coalgate community.  I started teaching here in 1984.  I tell my students I have been here since the beginning of time.  I almost have.  When they ask my age, I tell them I'm older than dirt.  That usually stops any further questions because they get lost in trying to figure out how old dirt is.

I work in the computer lab.  I have students as young as four through the fourth grade.  I love working with all of them.  This is my fourth year in the lab, and I find I am constantly learning new things.  I wouldn't trade this job for anything in the world.  I love the teachers that I work with, the students, and the parents that I have gotten to know over the years.

My husband's name is Philip.  We have been married for thirty six years.  He is a great husband.  He has always been the kind of guy who helps with the laundry and housework.  He even helps with the cooking and cleanup. I think I'll keep him for awhile.  Our oldest daughter, Kasey, teaches Kindergarten.  We couldn't be more proud of her.  I have enjoyed helping her, when I have the opportunity, get her classroom ready.  I have no doubt she is an amazing teacher.  She is married to Drew Jackson.  He works for the Choctaw in their finance department.  He is super smart.  We were blessed when he joined our family.  Our youngest, Lauren,  graduated from UCO in Edmond.  She has a double major in Forensic Science and Criminal Justice.  Lauren is a counselor and is starting on her Masters in the Spring.

If you ever have any questions or need to reach me, please feel free to call the school at 580-927-2338 ext. 125  or email me at  I would love to hear from you.
