The Hall of Fame designation is awarded to an individual and/or team who meet the qualifications outlined below in the following three categories:
All nominees must have a minimum of 10 years separation from high school graduation before being eligible.
Athletic Player
Any candidate for receipt of the Hall of Fame designation in the category of an outstanding player must meet the following three (3) criteria:
Coaching
Any candidate for receipt of the Hall of Fame designation in the category of coaching must meet three (3) of the following four (4) criteria.
Meritorious Achievement
Any candidate for Receipt of the Hall of Fame designation in the category of meritorious achievement must meet the following three (3) criteria:
Procedural Rules for Awards
No member of the selection committee is eligible for election into the Hall of Fame while serving in that capacity. The committee will receive nominations until October 31st of each year. The committee will then do the research on the nominee's past contributions and will determine the top 25 candidates in an evaluation process using a variety of resources. The seven (7)-member committee will each rank the candidates 1 thru 20 and the top four (4) individuals from any category and the top team may gain admittance into the Hall of Fame. Voting by the selection committee shall be by written ballot and votes recorded. Each year a maximum of four (4) living individuals and one (1) outstanding team will be recognized and inducted into the Hall of Fame. After the initial induction year, the individual members selected to the Hall of Fame will be given lifetime status to vote for future inductees as well as the selection committee.
Hall of Fame Banquet
The inductees will be introduced to the media by February of each year. The banquet to honor the inductees will be held in Coalgate, on the Saturday proceeding Memorial Day Weekend. Details of the location and program will be announced in March of each year.
