Mrs. Blue’s Class winner of American Heart Association fundraiser
February 7, 2020, was the 19 th Annual National Wear Red Day for the American Heart Association. Every year Ms. Debra Shockey organizes the fundraiser for E. E. Emerson
Elementary in an effort to raise money to help the fight against our nations #1 and #5 killers of women-heart disease and stroke. Ms. Shockey sent out a letter for all the students to take home, informing the parents of the Wear Red Day event. Students could participate by contributing money for a good cause and wearing red on February 7. The class that collected the most money would win not only bragging rights but a chance to “silly string” Mr. Canida when the weather gets warmer. Mrs. Kayla Blue’s class was the winner. E. E. Emerson raised $276.11 for the American Heart Association.
